The Desert Eagle

The Commander spawns with a Desert Eagle from round one — and it's absurdly strong. It insta-kills walkers on a headshot and on a body shot. It can insta-kill bloaters with a confirmed headshot. No other starter weapon comes close.

The real bonus: bullets pierce. A single shot can hit 2–3 zombies in a line. When a horde funnels through a doorway, one magazine turns into a crowd-clearing tool.

Against a brute — one of the toughest standard enemies — the Desert Eagle needs only ~14 bullets to finish the job. Most other guns take hundreds of shots for the same result. And anything you shoot gets marked with a red target for 30 seconds, making follow-up tracking effortless.

Desert Eagle Highlights
  • Insta-kills walkers (headshot + body shot)
  • Insta-kills bloaters (headshot)
  • Bullets pierce — hits multiple per shot
  • Brute down in ~14 bullets
  • Marks enemies with red target for 30s

Abilities

Ability 1

Attack Order

Blow the commander's whistle and buff your entire loadout for approximately 30 seconds — increased damage, faster reload speed, and a bonus to run speed. The buff stacks with any gear you're wearing.

Best used right before a Blood Moon starts or when you're about to enter the military base. It's easy to forget — but when you do use it, the reload speed boost alone noticeably changes how long it takes to cycle through a magazine in a firefight.

Ability 2

Airstrike

Target an area and call in a missile barrage. Rockets rain down over roughly a 5-second window and nearly wipe any group standing in the blast zone. Cooldown is only ~5 seconds after activation — meaning you can chain airstrikes frequently.

Unlike most class abilities that become irrelevant at Wave 100, the airstrike remains effective through endgame. Inside the military base, surrounded by 50 zombies, one airstrike clears the room so you can loot safely. It's the reason Commander stays in S tier long-term.

Commander vs Berserker

Both are S tier, but they play differently. The Berserker is melee-only and half the price at 500 gems — best for aggressive up-close players. Commander is the all-rounder: ranged dominance from day one plus the only ability that stays strong at Wave 100. If you have 1,000 gems and want a safe, versatile pick — Commander wins.

Final Verdict

The Safe S-Tier Pick

The airstrike is one of the few abilities that stays relevant the entire game. The Desert Eagle makes early waves trivial with one-shot kills and piercing bullets. 1,000 gems is a premium price — but Commander is the safe choice for anyone who can afford it. Best for all-rounders, team play, and late-game dominance. See how it compares on the best classes tier list.
